What Are the Baja Designs Squadron 2.0 LED Lights?

The Baja Designs Squadron 2.0 is the next generation of one of the most popular auxiliary LED pod lights on the market. Available in both Sport and Pro versions, the Squadron 2.0 packs serious output into a compact, durable housing — making it a go-to choice for off-road trucks, Jeeps, and overlanding builds.

Squadron 2.0 Sport vs. Pro: What's the Difference?

  • Squadron 2.0 Sport: A budget-friendly entry point with solid real-world output. Great for casual trail riders and weekend warriors who want a reliable upgrade over factory lighting.
  • Squadron 2.0 Pro: Higher lumen output, better thermal management, and Baja Designs' OnX6 diode technology for maximum distance and clarity. Ideal for serious off-roaders, desert runners, and competitive use.

Beam Pattern Options

Both Sport and Pro versions are available in multiple beam patterns to suit different use cases:

  • Spot: Maximum throw distance — best for high-speed desert or open trail running where you need to see far ahead.
  • Driving/Combo: A blend of spot and flood — the most versatile option for mixed on/off-road use.
  • Wide Cornering: Broad side-to-side spread — ideal for tight trails, rock crawling, and camp lighting.
  • Work/Scene: Maximum area illumination — great for worksites, recovery situations, or camp setups.

Baja Amber Mode

Many Squadron 2.0 lights are available with Baja Amber — a dual-mode option that lets you switch between white and amber output. Amber light cuts through dust, fog, and rain far better than white, making it invaluable for desert racing, muddy trails, or rainy conditions. If you ever drive in variable conditions, the Baja Amber version is well worth the upgrade.

Fitment & Mounting

The Squadron 2.0 uses a universal 1.75" ball mount, which is compatible with a wide range of vehicle-specific bracket kits. Common mounting locations include:

  • A-pillars (Jeep Wrangler JK/JL, Tacoma, F-150, and more)
  • Bumper pods and cube slots
  • Rock sliders and roof racks
  • Bed bars and chase racks

Baja Designs offers vehicle-specific mounting kits for most popular platforms — confirm your vehicle's bracket compatibility before ordering.

Wiring

Squadron 2.0 lights are sold as singles or pairs and include a wiring harness with relay, fuse, and switch for a complete plug-and-play install. For JL Wrangler owners with the factory aux switch bank, the harness can be integrated for a clean OEM look.
